Privacy policy

Last updated October 25, 2026

This policy explains what information Bay Area Harness, a Dead Reckoning company ("we", "us") collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: support@bayareaharness.com.

What we collect

  • Information you send us. When you request a quote or a free sample, we collect your name, work email, phone number, message, and any file you attach, such as drawings, pinouts or photos.
  • Usage information. We use PostHog analytics to understand how the site is used. It records pages viewed, clicks, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP address, and referring site, and may record anonymized session replays. Form fields are masked in replays. PostHog sets cookies or local storage to recognize return visits.
  • Hosting logs. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs such as IP address and request time for security and reliability.

How we use it

  • To reply to your request, prepare quotes, drawings and samples, and fulfill orders.
  • To improve the website and understand which pages are useful.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent spam or abuse.

We treat drawings and files you send as confidential and use them only to quote and build your parts. We will sign a mutual NDA on request.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers that help us run the business, such as our website host (Vercel), email delivery (Resend), analytics (PostHog) and email provider, and only as needed to provide their services. We may disclose information if required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry and order records as long as needed to serve you and to meet business, tax and quality-record obligations, then delete or anonymize them.

Your choices and California rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop using it for analytics, by emailing support@bayareaharness.com. California residents have these rights under the CCPA, and we will not discriminate against you for using them. You can also block cookies in your browser or use your browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control setting, which we honor for analytics.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

This site is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information.
